Maulen Ashimbayev got acquainted with the production of KPI

The Chairman of the Chamber, Maulen Ashimbayev, visited the petrochemical complex of “Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries Inc.” as part of the senators’ visit to the regions. At the meeting, issues of development of the processing industry, new sectors of the economy and the implementation of infrastructure projects were discussed. Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC NC “KazMunayGas” Dmitriy Makeyev reported that today the plant is developing several brands and sending them to the domestic market and for export.

- Since its official launch, the complex has produced more than 210 thousand tons of polypropylene. In addition to Kazakhstan, we export the resulting raw materials to Europe, China, Russia and Turkey. In 2023, we completely solved the problem of shortage of 5 grades of polypropylene, which is in demand in the domestic polymer business. 7 varieties of polypropylene are needed to meet production needs in the general domestic market. In February, 2 more new grades will be introduced. Thus, the demand for the grade in the domestic market will be satisfied. In addition to increasing the range in 2024, we expect that demand for polypropylene in the domestic market will grow to 30 thousand tons,” he said.  

Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries Inc. employs 628 people, and the company's contractors employ about 1,000 people.

“The most important thing for us is the development of human capital. On this path, we constantly improve the qualifications and social status of our employees. In 2022, we provided housing to 123 employees without contributions or interest. “We will continue to increase social projects in the future,” said Bolat Abdualiyev, acting Chairman of the Board.
